“You say you want a revolution Well, you know We all want to change the world” (Lennon/McCartney, 1968)

REVOLUTION #10

Revolution #10 gives the public a voice in creating A People’s Manifesto to express the hopes and fears of the nation for the next 5 years, as we approach the General Election in 2015.

From 18-27th July, we will open the doors of our Campaign Hub at Goldfinger Factory, underneath the iconic Trellick Tower building in West Kensington, offering workshops and artist surgeries with our artist-in-residence and Skinny Vintage CEO, Giuseppe Marinetti as part of InTRANSIT festival.

Our manifesto will consist of sound recordings, poetry, films, photographs, books, banners and anything else we can think of to express your ideas for the nation in an evolving exhibition, accompanied by impromptu performances.

At its’ heart are 3 questions:

1) If you were elected as Prime Minister in May 2015, what would be the first thing you would say to the nation?

2) Does democracy matter?

3) We need a revolution because… (complete this sentence)

Skinny Vintage is not affiliated to any political party or movement and we will consider all views from across the political spectrum. The only thing we will not tolerate is any form of hate speech or discrimination. The artist-in-resident’s judgement will be final…

Every Saturday throughout July, Joseph and his team will be running a Campaign Stall on Golborne Road market to connect with as many people as possible, collecting interviews, drawings, writings and rants to incorporate in the exhibition.

Come and visit us at Goldfinger Factory and enjoy a Molotov Mocktail at the Redemption Bar, whilst you listen to an evolving playlist of recordings, speeches and songs on our Listening Post and browse our collection of revolutionary books in the pop-up library.

The exhibition will culminate in a performance of A Victory Speech, setting out our People’s Manifesto, performed by Giuseppe Marinetti at the Opening and Private View on July 25th between 6 and 9pm.
